GIRL'S TEAMS

For the 2026-27 season, TYH will have an 8U all girls team open to all girls of Baraboo, Portage, Reedsburg, Wisconsin Dells and surrounding communities. We anticipate this team will practice together one time per week. Skaters will participate in girls only opportunities and jamborees (additional fees may apply based on events attended). Growing this age group and providing girls team experiences is important for the future of our girl’s program. 

Girls from Baraboo, Portage, Reedsburg, Wisconsin Dells, Sauk Prairie and surrounding communities form the Badger Lightning High School girls hockey team. Thunderbird Youth Hockey’s goal is to provide an opportunity for our local girls to have a place to learn and play youth hockey together.

**EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTS FOR REGISTRATIONS ON OR BEFORE 07/31/2026 WILL BE DISPLAYED IN CART**

Registration fees can be paid in full during registration in full. Or you can pay via cash or check offline using code "PAYOFFLINE" during registration.

Fees are divided into 4 equal installments due monthly on the 1st. These fees can be paid with 4 checks dated 10/01/2026, 11/01/2026, 12/01/2026 and 01/01/2027 or through your TYH Crossbar account. If you choose the online payment plan the first installment is collected upon conclusion of the registration session via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account. The remaining balance will be automatically debited in 3 equal installments from the SAME ACCOUNT. If you wish to use a different account to pay the balance, please log in to your TYH Crossbar account BEFORE the first day of payment to update your account information.

“Registration numbers will determine final team offerings. Teams, levels, and roster configurations are subject to change pending final player registration totals.”

• Service hours can be bought out at the time of online registration.

• TYH will not collect a deposit check for service hours this season. However, by completing registration, each family acknowledges and agrees that any required service hours not fulfilled will result in a financial obligation equal to the amount listed below. Hours will not be prorated. TYH will issue an invoice for the outstanding amount at the end of the season, and families agree to remit payment in full upon receipt.

• 15 hours to work, $300 buyout

• 20 hours to work, $500 buyout (will be added during registration of CoEd team this is per family session not per team)

• Rink Crew: rink set up and tear down, zamboni driving, and building maintenance - 100% reduction on service hours.
• Website Administrator - 50% reduction on service hours.
• Rostered head coaches - 100% reduction on service hours.
• Rostered assistant coaches - 50% reduction on service hours.
• Team Manager (1) - 100% reduction on service hours.
• Board of Directors and chairpersons do not receive a service hour fee reduction.

Game socks and jerseys will not be purchased during registration this year. Once official numbers are in and teams are selected each skater will be sent an offer to join the team via email. The offer will require the jersey and socks to be purchased to online to accept the team offer.

TYH has Limited gear available in larger sizes. If your older skater has a gear rental need, click the button during registration to request a gear manager reach out to you.

NLPs are required by all Youth players per USA hockey. To make the requirement easy to adhere to, TYH is creating a NLP Program offering options at a reduced price. More details to follow.

TYH has mandatory fundraising to help keep registration fees low. Fundraising obligation is calculated on a per family basis. The highest team minimum will be required. More information regarding each fundraising option will be available as the season kicks off. TYH has two options when it comes to the fundraiser:

• Calendar raffle - must sell $200 worth. Money is returned with sold calendar stubs. Available in the fall.
• Sportsman's raffle - must sell $200 worth. Money is returned with sold calendar stubs. Available in the winter.
• Fundraiser buyout for $200 (receive no goods in return) can be purchased during registration.

TYH also hosts many additional fundraising opportunities throughout the year, such as brat stands, fair booths, parades, car shows, and fun runs. These are not required fundraisers but all help is welcome and some hours may apply to volunteer hours.

TYH's preseason will be held at the Lake Delton Ice Arena Mondays and Wednesdays starting September 14, 2026.

Mobile Application

Players must be registered with TYH to participate in preseason and team selections. Player evaluations will be held during the preseason schedule at the Lake Delton Ice Arena. Evaluation dates are TBD. Each player will participate in a skills session and a scrimmage scenario. Evaluations will determine team placement. Players are encouraged to attend both dates but only one is required to be evaluated.
